This is the term frequently used for the enterprises, products and services, but in fact, it is the most required for each of you as an individual. The principle is to keep the most crucial parts of values and drop the rest of unnecessary ones such as excessive conventionality, vanity, attachment and so on. Then you continue to practice the process in accordance with your own sensibility.

Yuichi Odajima
Director of Individual Ltd. Born in 1968 in Hokkaido, JAPAN. Served as a junior high school teacher in Sapporo for 15 years. Left the teaching profession to join Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) in 2006 and directed a youth baseball team in Republic of Uganda for two years. His motivational and eye-opening coaching during this period had inspired many people in Japan as well as many youths in Uganda. Thus, his Ugandan high school baseball team was invited to Sapporo Dome for the friendly match in 2008. He received a national award in 2013-Higashikuninomiya culture prize by imperial family of Japan for the social recognition for cultural activities. The author of “Living as a Japanese ” .

In our daily lives, we live sensing the mood around us, following the trends and getting stained with social sense of values. We are dominated by the feeling of “how it should be”, so we often choose our behaviour and thoughts which are not from our real intension.
In a sense this is the circumstance where “we don’t live ourselves”, one can say. What we should do in such a case is not that we learn something new and acquire another sense of values to make up for ourselves for feeling insufficient . On the contrary, it is inevitable to detect the false sense of values which are not part of ourselves, release them and shave them off.
What we are left with after such a process is the sense of values from our “ being ourselves”, ”true selves”, Based on that, we construct “things and matters that are more ourselves”.
This is what is called the “unique life” in a genuine sense. We recognize our “individuality” only when we disown and abandon our previous sense of values.

The process of problem solving is just like in the fable of “the North Wind and the Sun”.
We all become peaceful and warm-hearted when we recollect all the love and affection we have received: the love from your parents and that from the people around you in your life. Once you get into such a state of mind, you will become aware of the conventional thought/behavior and attachment which don’t suit you.
Then you will be able to drop such unnecessary sense of values, just like the traveler has taken off his coat in the tale.
From the moment you realize that you are the existence covered in love, the problem in front of you will start to resolve. The process of problem solving itself reveals your own uniqueness to you.

This is a correspondence course where you will receive a report and audio from Yuichi once a month. He will give out his insight into an everyday situation.
